About me!

I'm a first-class Broadcast Journalism graduate from Nottingham Trent University! My media journey began when I was accepted into Springpod's online Journalism work experience. This small glimpse into the media world confirmed to me that this was something I needed to pursue. I enrolled as an undergraduate at NTU and undertook modules in digital content creation, photography, magazine, podcasting and more.

Recently, I have been working as an article writer for the Gedling Eye. Here, I write features and informative articles targeted towards the residents of Gedling.

I hope you enjoy looking through my portfolio, which showcases some of my TV and radio packages, magazine spreads, photos, and a glimpse of me in front of the camera!

On-Screen Action!

While at university, I participated in many presenting opportunities for the NTU news outlet CBJ News!

My presenting skills were heavily enhanced when I obtained voice training from industry expert Kate Lee. I was also the only student on the course to gain one-on-one mentoring from ITV Producer and News Editor Adam Di Tullio.

Radio Package Creation!

The key difference between television and radio packages is the visuals. With radio, it’s all about SOUNDS. - When creating non-visual content, I ensure listeners can PICTURE the image through what I create!

Radio Presenting!

My love for radio started when I began as a newsreader for NTU’s Fly Live.

From here, I quickly progressed to a presenter with an hour-long show every week! :)

I also contributed as a news reader for CBJ News and enhanced my technical skills through additional training at Erewash Sound in Ilkeston!

Recently, I gained work experience with the BBC in Derby, where I help with behind-the-scenes production!

TV Package Creation!

As part of the news days conducted at university, we were weekly tasked with coming up with a news story and creating it from start to finish - from initial brainstorming to sourcing and conducting interviews, filming and then editing all the bits and pieces together!

This was by far one of my favourite parts of my course. Being part of an end-to-end creation, breaking down each task and relying on my own organisation and editorial skills, is very rewarding!

Social Media Campaign:

NOTTINGHAM CITY OF LITERATURE

I was one out of two from hundreds of applications chosen for this internship! My role was to devise a social media campaign to promote the upcoming poetry event that the Nottingham City of Literature was hosting that year!

I was also interviewed by the NTU Press because of my work!

THE GEN-Z CHRONICLES PODCAST!

Hosted by OCAD University in Toronto.

I was the only applicant from the UK who had accepted this project!

I co-hosted this podcast to enhance student growth by providing personal anecdotes and guidance surrounding common issues such as finances, academic pressures, career goals, etc.

DOCUMENTARY: WHISKERS AT RISK

My documentary explored the legal loophole that compromised cats' safety on the roads.

Under the law, drivers are not required to stop after hitting a cat while driving. In this documentary, I explored the emotional impact of cat owners whose precious pets only just survived.
